AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

The first three days are the most crucial of the healing process. Leave your bandage on for at least two hours. If you are going to be out and about, leave the bandage on until you are home or a place where you can properly care for the tattoo. I recommend you leave the bandage on until the next morning, especially if you have pets who sleep in your bed. When you remove the bandage, wash with a fragrance-free anti-bacterial (soap such as Dial Gold) and hot water. Make sure your hands are clean before doing so. Do not use a wash cloth as this may irritate the tattoo. Rinse until the goopy/slimy substance is gone from the tattoo. This substance is plasma and will cause your tattoo to scab. It is normal to see pigment in the plasma/blood.

Let your tattoo air dry and then apply a very small amount of Aquaphor ointment. Repeat this process three times a day (Morning noon and night) for the first three days. After three days discontinue the use of Aquaphor and use a normal fragrance free lotion as needed. The tattoo will begin to peel like a sunburn soon after. Once the peeling is complete your tattoo is healed. Showering/running water is fine but please do not submerge your tattoo. No swimming or baths for at least two weeks. Keep your tattoo out of the sun as well. Showers and working out are okay.
